Tear Gas – The Obstacles, hurdles, and risks to contractors and consultants.

Presentation/Workshop Summary
This workshop will address the exposure risks to contractors and consultants when cleaning and restoring residential structures where Teat Gas or other Riot Control agents have been deployed as part of law enforcement efforts, from the perspective of a Certified Industrial Hygienist tasked with providing post clean-up verification testing. Issues of hazard assessment, PPE and Engineering Controls during clean-up efforts as well as technical and administrative challenges facing 3rd-party post clean-up verification testing consultants will be addressed. By the end of this session, participants will understand the areas where coordination and communication between property owners, insurance companies, the mitigation contractor and Industrial Hygienist, is essential toward successful tear gas cleanup projects.
